New spot from JWT Perth shows the RAC Roadside Assistance patrol team is always on call

The RAC Roadside Assistance patrol team is on call 24/7. Which makes things a bit tricky when it comes to their annual team photograph. Jesse McElroy directs this spot for JWT Perth.

Local team?
A roadside assistance service that’s available 24/7? You’d think that would form the basis of some pretty strong consumer benefits. Oh well, at least the client got a cute ad.
Obviously not, @Whynot?
Everyone just be thankful that those damn ‘filling in’ ads might be coming to an end….
Yellow
Obviously. But…Why not? Don’t they have one of Perth’s most awarded creatives at the helm? http://www.jwt.com/en/people/australia/subiaco/davtabeshfar/.
Yes, ‘Be Happy’ seeing as they were the CB campaign of the yea, picked by a jury chaired by David Droga, that would annoying to someone like you.
I like it. It’s not ground-breaking insight but the concept has legs. It can be campaigned out easily across all types of media. Good work guys.
I think you’re missing the point. RAC went with JWT because they wanted the expertise at the agency which is in Sydney. The WA branch is there to service the account but not necessarily do all the creative.
The best of both worlds for the RAC. Two agency creative departments competing against each other to come up with the best idea for the client. Exactly how 303 has been working for years.
This commercial nice and simple and is certainly no drop in standard on RAC. I believe Dave Wood is currently directing a new one, which may or may not have been created by Dav etc in Perth. Who cares. It will be pretty good I’m sure.
I’d like to see Perth take over with the RAC’s outdoor work, which is certainly not as good as what the Brand created.
Fair enough. But then the spec above should say “Jesse McElroy directs this spot for JWT Sydney.”
