New Chair and Executive for Comms Council WA

The Communications Council Western Australia has announced Gavin Bain (pictured centre), CEO of Meerkats, has accepted the role as WA Council Chair.

The role is a 3-year term and is supported by an executive committee of Brendon Lewis (pictured right) Group Account Director, Marketforce and Gemma Tognini (left) Managing Director of gtMedia.

Since 2010, the Communications Council WA chapter has developed a strong diversity of corporate membership from digital to experiential and communications agencies.

Bain said “During our term, the WA Council is looking to continue developing the great platform that has been created to raise industry standards, communicate the importance of communication in business and continuing to welcome new members to the Council in increasingly diverse genres within our sector.”

“Greater business community and Government engagement will be a feature of our plans moving forward. Central to this engagement is building understanding of the importance of communications to strategy and growth in an increasingly fragmented communications landscape.”

The Communications Council of Western Australia is a chapter of the national industry body directed by State Manager, Danielle Norrish the council provides representation across the whole industry and brings together the Media Federation of Australia, Perth Advertising and Design Club, AWARD, Account Planning Group of Australia, Youngbloods WA and Emergence Creative Festival.
