MYO GETS ON THE ELECTION TRAIL WITH TACTICAL CAMPAIGN BY BLOCK BRANDING
Block Branding has launched a tactical advertising campaign for MYO sandwich outlets in Perth in the lead up to this weekend’s State elections.
The campaign makes a playful quip at this year’s candidates with the tagline, ‘Wouldn’t it be great to have a real choice for a change?’ alongside photographs of party leaders Colin Barnett and Premier Alan Carpenter.
The campaign introduces two sandwiches named in honour of the candidates, with recipe cards now being distributed in-store: ‘The Carpenter’, made by adding ‘more and more cheese’; and ‘The Barnett’, made by ‘making it up as you go along’.
“Obviously we’re trying to tie the current wave of public sentiment with MYO’s core positioning, which is all about choice,” said Block creative director, Mark Braddock. “There’s been a lot of discussion in Western Australia about whether the two main parties offer anything different, which provides a nice opportunity to speak about a brand that offers oodles of choice.”

Umm.
Stick to design Block and leave the ads to us! 🙂
Umm…
At least Block have the balls to try something different and shake up the jaded old world of Perth’s “communication” industry…..
Yeah, that’s a bit harsh 7.32, I had a little smirk when i saw these. Very ballsy compared to the usual spineless client led shite.
Jaded old world – so what are you guys doing that we aren’t? That campaign can hardly be called different and shaking up the world of creativity.
It’s funny how agencies seem to get on the defensive when studios do advertising. But studios just get a kick out of seeing agencies try to do design…
nice work Block. i’m an ad man by the way
