MONDAY MORNING CREATIVE HIT

Amnesty_ink.jpgEvery Monday, a year or so back, Campaign Brief posted a commercial or print ad from around the world that had caught our eye. It was a nice, entertaining way to kick off the week. This week we reprise the Monday Morning Creative Hit with a commercial that even the Australian Olympic journalists in Beijing can now view. This Amnesty International “Ink” three minute commercial has been getting a lot of exposure and accolades around the world. It is from TBWA Paris and features some of the best animation Campaign Brief has seen for a long time.

Silk Cut.jpgThis may not be politically correct today but some of the early cigarette ads from the UK were great to watch. While surfing YouTube over the weekend we found this old Silk Cut “Mbongo” commercial. There’s a story behind this spot. Apparently the UK Advertising Standards Council at the time found the commercial not suitable because of the fighting scenes so the agency recut the commercial and added the word “Sorry” every time someone got killed. It was an inspired addition and really made the commercial much more entertaining.
