Meerkats take out the big Agency of the Year gong at the Campaign Brief Awards

Meerkats_staff.jpgOver 800 people saw Meerkats win Campaign Brief’s Agency of the Year at tonight’s gala Oasis Ball, held at Burswood. It’s a huge coup for the five-year old Meerkats – beating last year’s winner The Brand Agency, 303 and Gatecrasher to Western Australia’s most prestigious accolade. The win is even more notable in that it is the first time in 12 years that the winning agency has not come from Perth’s big three agencies – Marketforce, Brand and 303.

Campaign Brief Editor Martin Trevaskis said the final decision was a very close call. “All four agencies were right in the mix for Agency of the Year and at one state we were even almost decided on a different winner. But when we went over all four submissions again it was the depth of Meerkat’s submission that edged them ahead. Meerkats has taken a giant step over the past 12 months with some solid work, some good awards success and great growth as a business.”
