Meerkats have WA’s only Caxton finalist this year, in the Copywriting category for this Lotterywest ANZAC Day ad written by Mike Edmonds.

Congratulations, Mike. I read every word of this when it was in the paper.
I agree with you Malcolm, well done Mike on a very well written ad. It’s such a shame that the art direction and typography didn’t receive the same amount of love and attention, otherwise it might’ve picked up in the non-craft category as well.
This ad works much better if you hold a potato up in front of the page while reading it.
Beautiful. I love the little ‘Anzac Potato’ illustration above the copy too. Very cute.
