Marketforce makes Mrs Mac’s a million – most viewed video in Australia in October on YouTube – phase 2 of the campaign kicks off this weekend
In just a few short weeks Marketforce’s Mrs Mac’s web videos have attracted over a million hits on youtube, earning the honour of being the #1 most viewed video in Australia and the #2 most viewed video channel in Australia for the month of October.
As well as being featured on numerous national and international advertising and marketing blogs, the video was picked up by Zoo Magazine and to date has been watched by a further 42,394 Australians via Ninemsn. The West Australian’s Rob Broadfield featured the campaign in his Inside Cover column – read by over 200,000 West Australians daily – declaring that “if you want a lesson in viral advertising you need go no further than the Mrs Mac’s Lean Meat Crusty Top Campaign which has quietly become one of the most watched videos in Australia.”
Phase Two of the campaign kicks off this weekend when the ‘Crusty Challenge’ goes live on Saturday at 12pm AEDT (9am local time).
Contestants from across the State will log onto the Crusty Challenge site via webcam and battle it out to see who can meet the challenges issued and stay online the longest. The winner will be crowned the 2010 Crusty Champion and stagger off to bed ten grand richer.
Check out the first batch of Crusties here and make sure you tune into the live action this Saturday at www.crustychallenge.com.au.
As well as being featured on numerous national and international advertising and marketing blogs, including Bestads, the original video was picked up by Zoo Magazine and to date has been watched by a further 42,394 Australians via Ninemsn.
Even The West Australian’s Rob Broadfield was impressed enough to feature the campaign in his INSIDE COVER column – which is read by over 200,000 West Australians daily – declaring that “if you want a lesson in viral advertising you need go no further than the Mrs Mac’s Lean Meat Crusty Top Campaign which has quietly become one of the most watched videos in Australia.”

Who’s paying the internet bill at MF? Must be pretty busy with all the staff visiting the site to get the hit rate up.
Seriously 6.32… is that the best you can do?
6:32 – Woah, who invited the fun police?
Great job. Still one of the best opening shots of the year.
And sales?
Just want to know if we are moving pastry or eyeballs.
I see the idiot commenter’s are already all over it though, you’d think they didn’t have anything better to do at their jobs… wait, maybe they don’t.
Yeah but has Mrs Mac’s sold a million more pies?
I prefer the sentiment behind this 64 million hit idea

64 MILLION hits
For a free hug, now that makes me want to buy a bloody decent crusty meat pie!
The ad might attract attention, doesn’t mean Marketforce know anything about Digital strategy tho… as Lotterywest, Ikea, SGIO, Westnet etc etc etc can testify…
Posting vitriol at 6:32am! Sounds like someone shat the bed and woke up all grumpy.
9.39 what a sad individual you are
@ 9:39. Show us some of your digital strategy meat head. At least MF are making some headway. Show me another Perth agency doing as much with digital. Ask any other Creative Director in Perth and I’ll bet they tell you that they don’t get digital. Sounds to me as though MF are challenging themselves. You can’t knock ’em for having a go. Any jobs going Mr Tinning?
9:39 get a life clown, it’s un-Australian this vile crap you spin on this blog. Well done MF
The spot? Meh. It’s getting views because it has boobs in it. But it’s still a good TVC.
The online promo, however, is fantastic. Well done Marketforce.

Integrated campaigns 10.08? They’re banner ad and website designers you’ve posted there.
Great work MF.
This Marketforce bashing is getting beyond a joke. A Perth agency generates Australia’s No # position and people still find it possible to find the negative? Come clean…what’s your real motivation? You were sacked, right? For my part, congratulations MF and AT. I’m proud to be working in the same town.
p.s. Maybe CB could reprint the article that Martin wrote a couple of years ago reminding people of the significant and consistent support MF has supplied to the Perth advertising industry. MF has helped create an environment for us all to benefit.
