Dickson_GoldSiren_1.jpgThe 27th Annual Australian Commercial Radio Awards presented on Saturday night have been disappointing for WA stations. Winners were announced in 33 categories, across news, talkback, sport and music, as 1000 industry people joined to celebrate their achievements.

Yet again, Southern Cross Austereo’s Matt Dickson (pictured) won the Best Station Produced Commercial (Metro) award. His winning spot, created with Carl Step, was Westspecs ‘Shart’.

Dickson has won this award several times now and earlier this year won the national Gold Siren award against all-comers, underlining his reputation as the best in-house radio creative in Australia. He was invited to speak at the National Radio Conference on Friday, leading a one-hour workshop on bringing the entertainment factor to radio advertising.

SCA’s Triple M Modern Rock Digital by Jaime Chaux & Jacqui Kassulke in Adelaide & Perth won Best Digital Radio Format, while Nova’s national drive team Kate, Tim & Marty, which is heard in Perth, won the award for Best Networked Program.
