Kleenheat Gas turns up the heat in The West

Kleenheat Gas’s campaign promoting its move into domestic gas retailing continues to roll-out in The West Australian, with a first to market media execution in The Weekend West.
The ‘pipeline’ execution ran over 5 spreads. This follows Kleenheat’s domination of the first 5 pages of The West on March 27.
“When Kleenheat Gas turned on choice in the WA Natural Gas retail market, The West turned on a brand new creative execution to help tell the story” said Channel H’s Helen Hammond, who planned and bought the media.

Nice use of newspaper but it doesn’t excuse that appalling use if television!
At least the press is finally getting to the point: cheap gas.
Why was this buried in the TV and outdoor?
@Turn it off… Not all advertising is made to be an award-winner. It may come as a surprise to you that some ads are actually made to meet business objectives. ‘Increased awareness’ being one of them.
10% less is not right… it all depends on your usage – I did the sums and the difference is maybe 2% for my bills…….
Tvc is great, that is until it is ruined with the ridiculous flame on the finger at the end – wtf?! Very catchy tune too – you cant deny it when your kids are bouncing around the house singing it! All in all a good effort I think – well done Trilogy.
Why do wealthy WA business pay less for Kleenheat gas than battler WA families?
Standard tariff
Residential Customers Price including GST
Supply charge 18.54 cents per day
Usage charge – for the first 12 units used on average per day 12.79 cents per unit
Usage charge – for each additional unit used on average per day 11.54 cents per unit
Business Customers Price including GST
Supply charge 16.13 cents per day
Usage charge – for the first 100 units used on average per day 11.66 cents per unit
Usage charge – for each additional unit used on average per day 9.34 cents per unit
I like change. I won’t be changing to Kleenheat though. Misleading and poorly executed advertising and lock-in contracts can go jump. I’ll wait for the 3rd player to arrive, which will surely offer a real alternative…..right?
