Media legend Kerry Gretton to retire at year’s end
Kerry Gretton – one of Perth’s most loved and experienced media professionals – has announced her retirement.
Gretton started her career in 1972 at USP Needham in Brisbane (where she fell in love with the Media Director) before falling in love with Media and became a Media Coordinator.
She moved back to Perth in 1974 and over the years worked at agencies such as Adlink, Kestel McManis & Thompson, Workhouse, DMB&B, Media Specialists with JMA Ogilvy & Mather, Media Specialists with The Shorter Group, Elliot & Matthews; and currently at Initiative. She also had a stint at Channel 9 as a Sales Executive.
Clive Bingwa, Managing Director Initiative Perth said “I am glad to have had the chance to work with Kerry over the last two years. She is kind, thoughtful, feisty, and her unwavering passion for her job, clients, and fellow staff is unrivalled. She will be sorely missed by the entire team and broader market.”
Judi van Omme, Trading Director Initiative Perth added ” ‘Kerri-Ann Kennel’ and I have seen and been a part of a whole lot of industry changes during our time working together and I’m going to miss this lady! From her wicked sense of humour to the attention to detail afforded to all her clients, she’s a perfect gem.”
Gretton will depart at the end of this year. There will be a send off for her at 4pm on Wednesday, December 7 at the Subiaco Hotel, and anyone who has worked with Kerry over the years is welcome to drop in for a drink.
