John Emery and Janice Law give AGDA their generational perspectives on a career in design

AGDA’s recent event in August saw two of Perth’s most talented designers from two different eras of design speaking about what motivates them to produce globally recognised design work in our very own backyard.

Five years after graduating at the top of her class in advertising to finding her true passion in design, The Brand Agency’s Janice Law has worked across some of Perth’s largest branding projects. Her love of hand-crafted type and lettering has seen her work recognised both locally and internationally.

At the other end of the scale, REB Design’s John Emery reflected on a career of more than 25 years, including founding one of Perth’s most established and well-renowned studios, being one of the pioneers of Perth’s design scene and building a world-class reputation.

Held at the Repeat Offender Café and Gallery in Subiaco, the speakers’ different but also complementary perspectives were much appreciated by the capacity crowd in attendance.
