Inaugural ‘Caxton Quandary’ set to delve into industry controversies with a live-streamed Q&A event direct from the seminar in the Hunter
The Caxton Committee and The Communications Council today announced the inaugural ‘Caxton Quandary’, a Q&A panel event that will be live streamed from this year’s Caxton Seminar to events around Australia, including Perth.
Presented by The Communications Council, the one hour panel discussion will be hosted and moderated by Campbell Reid, the Group Editorial Director of News Limited, and former editor of The Australian and The Daily Telegraph.
A series of contentious topics including ‘Media is the new Creative’ will be the source of heated debate amongst a panel of the industry’s best, supplemented by subjects submitted by attendees both in advance of and during the event.
The panel will include UM Australia CEO Mat Baxter and Lion Brand Director Jon Bradshaw, with two more panelists to be announced soon.
The Communications Council will host events in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth for its members and the broader marketing and advertising community, who will receive a live feed of the Caxton Quandary and who can participate by submitting questions via Twitter: #caxtonquandary.
Says The Communications Council CEO Daniel Leesong: “This will be a humorous evening, bringing together speakers with expertise from all areas of the business for some firm discussion. Being all about different dilemmas encountered in our industry, it will be an open conversation in which we as a community can share opinions, whether in the Hunter Valley or not. It’s sure to be provocative.”

The event will be broadcast live from 6.30pm EST on Thursday 27th October from Chateau Elan at the Hunter Valley, the venue for the 2011 Caxton Seminar and Awards and live streamed to venues in Perth, Brisbane and Melbourne.

The 2011 Caxton Seminar and Awards will be held from October 27-29. Delegates will convene at the stunning Chateau Elan, a new luxury 5-star resort located on The Vintage golf course in the Hunter Valley.
