Hat trick for Jack in the box’s Scott Robinson at 40under40 Awards last night
Young Western Australian entrepreneur, Scott Robinson, 35, Founder & Director of Busselton creative marketing agency, Jack in the box, has made history by being the first person ever to win three Business News 40under40 Awards.
The Business News 40under40 Gala Awards are touted as the highlight of the corporate events calendar in Western Australia and the 2014 Banquet was held at the Grand Ballroom at Crown Perth last night.
Every year, the Business News 40under40 awards programme continues to find 40 outstanding young businessmen and businesswomen worthy of the opportunity to be awarded. The awards recognise not only personal determination and commercial drive, but also the philanthropic pursuits that balance these young individuals’ professional achievements.
Described as motivated, passionate and a dreamer, Robinson is a most unique individual who has now been awarded three prestigious 40under40 Awards in 2004, 2010 and 2014.
Robinson founded Jack in the box in the year 2000 with only two clients and over the last 13 years, the company has achieved significant growth year-on-year. Jack in the box now has a team of ten and over 50 clients across the South West, Western Australia and Australia.
Robinson is also the mastermind behind The Orange Seed Project, an initiative developed by Jack in the box and supported by The West Australian, as a means to give back to the WA community. Not-forprofit organisations are eligible to apply for the annual initiative, with the chosen winner receiving a ‘gift’ including professional marketing tools and expert advice as well as press advertising in The West Australian.
He is also regarded as one of the most creative thinkers, especially in the field of technology. He has patiently mastered the disciplines of marketing and believes in the progressive process of leading the way rather than following. Skilled in the arts of graphic design, technical print, television direction and production, photography and web design – both graphic and technical, Scott has a natural ability in strategic social networking. His ability to surround himself with talented people is akin to the many great traits of some of the world’s most successful entrepreneurs.
In 2003, Robinson was awarded the South West ‘Young Business Achiever of the Year Award’ and nominated as a finalist in two categories of the Inaugural AUSpost Regional Business Awards of 2003, an acknowledgement reserved for the ‘best of the best’. His work was further acknowledged when he was named as one of only sixteen Western Australian Finalists in the 2005 Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of Year Awards. He is also now a respected mentor in the unique Australian business start-up initiatives, PushStart and StartUp Smart.
