Gatecrasher produces second phase of national Alcoholics Anonymous campaign

AA_Work.jpgIn June this year, Alcoholics Anonymous Australia (AA) marked its 65th anniversary by launching a national media campaign of community service announcements, involving three agencies.

First cab-off-the-rank was Grey Healthcare, Sydney, whose campaign has been running until recently.

The second phase of the campaign, by Gatecrasher will air from September to the end of 2010.

“The thinking behind our campaign of three 30-second TVCs is that alcoholics don’t need to be told they’ve got a problem, they simply need to know that there’s a solution,” explained creative director Adam Barker. “Our ads show the emotional turmoil of the drinker and clearly spell out that AA could be the answer”.

“I’d like to thank all involved in making the ads, especially Grant Sputore and Ryan Hodgson. The craft and labour that has gone into every aspect of production reflects an amazing level of commitment from all involved”.

“This has been a fantastic project to be involved with. The AA client team has been incredibly inspiring and supportive all the way through. Enormous credit has to go to Barbara Joss from Joss & Co Media Relations for getting the campaign off the ground in the first place”, said Barker.
