GATECRASHER NOT SELLING TO MITCHELLS

Gatecrasher managing director, Tony Scampoli has moved to quash rumours of a buy-out of the agency by Mitchells. Scampoli said he had initially dismissed it as idle gossip that would quickly die out but was concerned that it has persisted with the agency in the middle of an important pitch for Curtin University.
“This agency has not had any approach from Mitchells or any other party for a potential buy-out,” said Scampoli. “Let me make this very clear, there is absolutely no truth at all in the rumours regarding the sale of Gatecrasher Advertising.”

Well I’m glad that’s cleared up. But if they had a big bag of money would you be interested Tony?
What’s to buy anyway? Bedshed? Curtin? The agency has not won a creative award for years.
I disagree. It’s hard to get an office that close to The Subi Hotel these days.
Maybe they should make the trip across the road more often. A few beers may help the creative juices flow.
Er, 12.19, BedShed’s probably one of the biggest single accounts left in this state. To be fair to Gatecrasher everyone knows that when it comes to consistently winning awards, Perth is a 2 horse town at the moment. Even Brand don’t win anything. Without taking too much away from the creatives at 303 and MF who’ve been doing great work, I think it’s got a lot to do with the clients. There’s limited creative opportunities with good clients in this town.
Bedshed may be one of the state’s biggest but Gatecrasher don’t see it all. They handle their media direct through a media shop. Also I can assure you we have tough clients here too. I don’t think Gatecrasher can, or would, use the “we have tough clients” excuse for their bad creative record. It’s solely due to the two CDs worrying about the business and not trying hard enough.
