Gatecrasher produces new tobacco tax increase campaign for Make Smoking History

Gatecrasher has produced press and online advertising to announce a new increase in tobacco tax. From 1 December 2013, a new increase in excise tax has pushed the average price for a packet of 25 cigarettes up to about $20.

Increasing price is the single most effective way for government to reduce premature deaths due to smoking. Evidence has shown that an increase in excise in 2010 resulted in an 11% fall in tobacco consumption.
