Droga5 calls for creative companies to commit to the trial hire of a person with a disability
Droga5 Australia creative chairman David Nobay is calling on the 32,000 registered creative companies in Australia to commit to the trial of a person with a disability.
From advertising agencies to architectural firms, film to fashion, theatre and dance companies to music and production studios.
By 2021, the Creative Spirit program – an initiative of Droga5 in partnership with Break Thru People Solutions – aims to get every one of those companies on board. Ultimately, this will make the creative community the largest employer of these extraordinary people.
Nobay launched Creative Spirit yesterday at the Caxton Awards & Seminar in the NSW Hunter Valley. After screening the video there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.
To kick things off a handful of like-minded companies are already on board: The Monkeys, Shine, Frost, and Nylon. And it couldn’t be simpler for WA companies to join them and share your work place with someone truly extraordinary. Simply ‘Sign up’ to the Creative Spirit program and Break Thru will take care of the rest.

I saw more than a few people at the Caxtons launch moved to tears. One of those ideas that seems so simple but would make a real difference and change peoples lives – something we talk a lot about in our industry. Well, here’s your chance.

Nobby, I get very cynical about our puffed up, superficial industry, but this makes me very proud. Your video is a beautiful crafting of a simple humane truth; diversity makes us more interesting and better at our jobs. Also, it makes us convict scum from the arse end of the pacific look bloody sensitive.
