Digital Monopoly to bring Whiteman Park to life online in website revamp
Perth-based agency Digital Monopoly will design and build a new website for the recreation and conservation reserve Whiteman Park after being awarded a design, hosting and support contract. The new website is expected to launch by 30 June 2015.
The centrepiece of the new website will be a virtual tour, to be constructed from high-resolution aerial photography taken from a drone and then animated, giving site visitors a unique and close up view of the Park’s diverse attractions.
Whiteman Park, which at 4,000 hectares is one of the largest metropolitan parks in the world, has an array of transport heritage rides and museums and a range of native bushland and wildlife attractions.
Digital Monopoly’s Creative Director Aaron Kirkpatrick, who will head up the project alongside Senior Developer Eric Wisibono and Project Manager Emily Reiffer, said immersive graphical elements will give website users a new perspective on the Park’s attractions.
“We proposed a design incorporating detailed video and photography that will improve the user experience and showcase the Park’s facilities in a really interesting way,” Kirkpatrick said. “The biggest challenge with this project is the scale of the Park and the variety of visitor experiences. We’ve proposed a solution with some exciting technologies which we feel will very effectively communicate the great things about Whiteman Park.”
Digital Monopoly General Manager Oliver Wood said the contract win added to the company’s growing portfolio of Australian and Asian clientele.
“We’re extremely happy to win this contract and looking forward to achieving a great outcome for people who want to learn about and visit Whiteman Park. It also adds to a great blend of projects right across our business.”
