Diego Kendrick from Longreach wins SWM’s agency cricket tipping competition
And just like that the bucket hats and the plastic cups, which once formed the shape of glorious beer snakes, have hit the recycling bin as the sun sets on another interesting season of BBL cricket.
From COVID outbreaks to last minute fixture changes, late call-ups, unlikely heroes and a 50 day stint away from home, it was a season like we’ve never seen before. However this didn’t deter our mighty Perth Scorchers from taking out the championship for the 4th time nor did it discourage our tippers who did exceptionally well navigating their way through a challenging season.
Throughout all this there was one person who did extremely well. The fame, glory and the prize was handed over to the lucky winner Diego Kendrick from Longreach.
Kendrick, who came from behind after only making his debut appearance in the top 10 leader board mid-way through the season, claims that he did not realise he even had a chance of winning until the very last game, despite his very bad tipping decision with the Adelaide Sixers in the final round. He still managed to outscore his fellow competitors winning the entire competition.
Kendrick walked away with a box full of Macca’s merchandise and a $500 Thirsty Camel Voucher which he plans not to share with anyone, including his wife.
When asked, Kendrick gave some sound advice for those tipping: “Don’t forget to tip, and if you do just make sure you get really lucky and make sure it’s during a week when all the AWAY teams win”. In addition, his tipping strategy this upcoming AFL season is to tip with his gut, decide things at whim and not to worry about the percentages”. His favourite button to press is “randomise tips”.
Kendrick is looking forward to competing in SWM’s upcoming AFL Footy Tipping Competition where the major prize is $50,000 thanks to TABtouch and just for playing you can win a Mazda BT-50 plus weekly prizes of $1,000 thanks to Thirsty Camel.
