DAVE WOOD IS A LITTLE UPSTART

Former top Perth director,Dave Wood, has landed on his feet in London signing with production companyUpstart Films. Wood emerged as one of Perth’s most successfuldirectors, working firstly with Cyclops Films before joining ZZ Productionswhere he directed many of Perth’s more high profile and awarded commercials.Two months ago he left our shores to try his luck in London.

“I am looking forward toworking at Upstart Films,” Wood told Campaign Brief. “There are 8 other directorsat Upstart and some of them have some pretty amazing reels – spots for Stella Artois,Heineken, Renault, VW… one of them made the one of the Harry Potter films andalso directed Children of Men, and one of the other directors directed Il Postinoand 1984. The owners of the company are cool and want me to only focus oncomedy which suits me – anything to get me closer to my dream of making funnyviolent beer ads!”
