Dav Tabeshfar wins Austereo’s Radio Writers’ Award and pockets the $20,000 cash prize

Award Winners.jpgFormer 303 Lowe copywriter Dav Tabeshfar has won this year’s $20,000 Southern Cross Austereo Radio Writers’ Award for his IKEA ‘Rent’ commercial. The spot beat 24 other finalists in the competition that is now in its 18th year. As part of the prize IKEA wins $20,000 of value added airtime.

Tabeshfar was announced the winner today at a big  lunch at Frasers Restaurant in Kings Park.

Brainestorme was announced production company of the year – producing 16 of this year’s 24 finalists. And Justin Braine from Brainstorme was announced producer of the year for his work on the winning spot.

This year’s award judges were Cam Hoelter (DDB Sydney), Simon Veksner (ex BBH London), Tom Martin (Clemenger BBDO Sydney), Noah Regan (The Monkeys, Sydney and Australian ad legend, Ron Mather.

Over the past 18 years Southern Cross Austereo has awarded a total of $360,000 in cash to Perth creatives.
