CRIMESTOPPERS HEADS TO THE NORTH-WEST
November 18 2008, 11:38 am | | 17 Comments
Marketforce has produced a new poster campaign for Crimestoppers in association with BHP Billiton. The campaign is running in Port Hedland, which unfortunately has also experienced an increase in crime along with the mining boom.

Port Behedland?
Impressive work – Like, I do.
The irony is it’s dudes like disco rob you gotta watch out for!
ha haaa
I like it a lot.
Where can I purchase one of these devices?
They creep me out
5.26am. No need to buy one. Simply break into an adjoining house in the dead of night and decapitate one of the residents. Then unhitch the dish from your satellite pole and affix their head in its place. Bingo! your very own Neighbourhead Watch.
Rob creeping you out? Never!!
This is really nice work. Where are all the slagging off comments?
1.12pm.
Ever since Sympathy Fuck and Terse Official comment guy disappeared this blog has been dull as dishwater
I agree 3.24.
Let’s discuss.
So what is the most obvious/basic solution to this brief? We could take everyday citizens and replace their heads with surveillance cameras. Gatecrasher already did that. So, um, what if we do the opposite? Yeah, replace the cameras, with peoples’ heads.
Great photography, nice retouching and cool art direction do not make up for a lazy and obvious idea. And it’s creepy as fuck.
Agreed Sympathy Fuck.
The trouble is that their everyday superheroes campaign was really nice and clearly they should have just run that. But of course, that wouldn’t have won MF any more awards. So they are forced to come up with another good idea in an already exhausted category. Credit to Jules , Murray and Allan for having a stab. It’s just not quite as good and the logic of decapitating people to prevent crime is a bit weird too. Now, where’s the terse official response from Marketforce on this thread?
This work isn’t great (but well above 99.9% of the stuff the rest of us are producing) but I admire the hell out of these guys for keeping on pushing things here and for being part of the revival of craft in Perth. More please.
I can’t stop thinking about beheaded medieval criminals when I look at these pics…disturbing.
So Sympathy Fuck you are a creative director then-that narrows the field down doesn’t it. If your not then you must seriously rate yourself to post such an informed opinion. Put your last ad up so we can all see where your coming from. go on, dare ya!
4.15pm. Yee Ha. Go Terse Official Comment From Marketforce Guy. You’re big time back and now you’re gunning for Sympathy Fuck. Bring it. THIS is why we come on the blog.
TOCG, you would have seen my latest work, no need to post it here. It’s that brilliant 5 x 2 mono campaign in Farm Weekly. Yeah, you know the one. I expect it’ll do big things at PADC, including ‘Best use of Multiple Exclamation Points’ and possibly a Gold in ‘Most fonts used in a Campaign.’ Yeah, who’s laughing now?
Sympathy Fuck.
That was a top ad, mate. Shifted heaps of kit for the client. As all ads should do. I wonder how many criminals will alter their behavior based on this Neigbourhead Watch campaign: “Granny’s head on a pole? Excellent, I’ll just nip into her unit, and nick her purse while she’s up there”
