Communications Council WA seeks industry input on AdSchool overhaul

AlTaylor_sml.jpgAdSchool is on the look-out for industry experts who would like to help shape theprogram in WA. Having recently adopted a ‘learn by doing model’, offering a hands on, interactive learning experience, AdSchool is now seeking to ensure it evolves and changesto reflect the local marketing communications landscape it operates in.

The call-out comes just after a review of AdSchool’s teaching model, where, in consultation with industry, a new structure was formulated that has seen AdSchool become more relevant, more engaging and more interactive. It has also seen the introduction of its first local course Communications Essentials

Communications Council WA chairman Alan Taylor (pictured), who has been instrumental in driving the change, said: “The guiding principles we have established for the new AdSchool course development is certainly in the right territory. The first course created – Communications Essentials – has been a big hit. We are really excited to have enthusiastic, passionate and committed industry people involved in taking these principals and building these new courses from the ground up.”

AdSchool’s assessment will start with its entry level courses. The courses under review are the Account/Business Management, Strategy/Planning, Media/Channel, Creative/Creative Services courses.

Should you be interested in being involved, please nominate yourself or a colleague to be on the relevant AdSchool WA sub-committee. To be considered you will need to be working in the relevant discipline for a minimum of three years.
