Meerkats creates new News campaign for Seven

NoiseToNews_Shark_BLOG.jpgChannel 7 Perth has launched a new campaign to promote 7 News this week with a 40-second spot featuring Rick Ardon and Susannah Carr.

Created by Meerkats, this campaign comes against a backdrop of increased emphasis in Seven’s dominating news products.

NoiseToNews_RickSue_BLOG.jpgThere are also three 20-second versions with Angela Tsun and Basil Zempilas, as well as 5-second teasers, which are already running.

‘Noise to News’ has been created to reflect not only the global-to-local remit of Seven News, but also the fast pace of modern life with its ‘news-snacking’ culture and the slightly overwhelming nature of non-stop news. All this is portrayed against a backdrop of images and issues that matter to the people of Western Australia.

The slightly frenetic context is deliberately contrasted with the calmness of the Seven News, giving viewers their trusted insight into the day’s news.

Directed by Meerkats’ Dan Bradley working with a WA-based crew, the campaign was shot at the Channel 7 Studios in Dianella and features a new version of the classic ‘Nobody knows news like Seven.’
