WABuy West Eat Best and Celebrate WA are partnering on a statewide hunt for WA’s Signature Dish. The competition will ultimately crown the recipe that puts our State on a plate at the Grand Finale event, which will take place in the WA Museum courtyard of the Perth Cultural Centre as part of WA Day – Come Out & Play celebrations on Monday 2 June 2014.

WA’s Signature Dish is open to amateurs who love food and cooking, and not professional chefs. To be in the running to win WA’s Signature Dish contestants need to submit their original recipes online and battle it out in one of four regional finals: Great Southern, Southern Forests, Gascoyne, and Perth and Surrounds. The winner of each regional final will work with a high profile mentor chef to get ready for the Grand Finale held in Perth on the WA Day public holiday on 2 June.

The campaign was developed by Clarity Communications who were recently named as the master agency on the Celebrate WA account. Clarity willl be developing all brand, PR and social media strategy for the WA’s Signature Dish campaign.

The Finale will be judged by a panel of high profile food industry experts; Guillaume Brahimi of Bistro Guillaume, Ralf Vogt, Executive Chef Crown Perth, and Rob Broadfield, renowned food critic and columnist for The West Australian.

The Grand Finale will be a focal point of the Come Out and Play activities organised by Celebrate WA, and television personality and chef Anna Gare and WA food ambassador Don Hancey will be on hand to compere the battle and ultimately anoint one of the recipes WA’s Signature dish.
