303 MullenLowe Perth and Studio Raconteur create entry campaign for 2017 DIA WA Awards

The annual DIA WA Awards program, now in its 15th year, encourages leadership and innovation in imaginative and sustainable design practice and has become an integral part of the Western Australian design landscape.
303 MullenLowe and Studio Raconteur have created a campaign for the 2017 edition of the Awards.
Described as ‘a most civilised rebellion’, the campaign is a celebration of WA designers pushing the boundaries of design, breaking the rules while respecting their craft, and in doing so, creating unexpected approaches in all disciplines of WA design. The campaign launches with a typographically-led manifesto film, posters and postcards, plus online support.
Stage 2 of the campaign ‘BREAK THE LOGO’ will invite designers to create a uniquely crowd-sourced brand identity for the award night itself.
DIA WA President Gavin Campbell said the 2017 DIA WA AWARDS gives Western Australian designers the opportunity to promote their talent and work, specialising in three key disciplines – Interior Spaces, Product Design and Visual Communication.
“This year’s call to entries is designed to take us outside of our comfort zone and broaden the scope of work entered this year. Our desire to promote new forms of design also offered us a great opportunity to collaborate with the team at 303 MullenLowe and Studio Raconteur.”
Creative Lead, Dean Hunt of 303 MullenLowe, Perth added: “This year’s call for entries campaign is all about celebrating the naturally rebellious nature of WA’s most talented designers. Creating something new is all about breaking the rules in a controlled and considered manor. It’s been a pleasure collaborating with Gavin and the wider DIA group, and working with all the talented designers on this project. We look forward to growing this platform in the near future. Exciting times.”
Award submissions close on Thursday, 31st August 2017 at 5.00pm sharp.
Winners of the DIA WA 2017 Awards will be announced at the Exhibition, Awards Presentation and Cocktail evening on Thursday, 7th December 2017, 6.00pm – 9.00pm at the State Theatre.
