Brand Agency wins LandCorp account
LandCorp has appointed The Brand Agency to its advertising account for the next three years.
LandCorp’s General Manager Business Development and Marketing Kerry Fijac said that the decision to appoint one agency on the back of a shared relationship with Brand and Marketforce was a difficult one and “influenced largely by an ability to achieve consistency and good economies of scale.”
“Whilst we would like to publicly acknowledge and recognise the history, commitment and professional expertise which typified the relationship LandCorp has enjoyed with Marketforce and the true effort put in by 303 and AdCorp [the other shortlisted agencies], it is believed that going forward, we will be best served by streamlining and consolidating our marketing efforts with the team from The Brand Agency,” said Fijac.

That was hard to predict…not
Don’t you hate the way these pseudo government jocks have to go through the motions when, lets face it Brand would have had to had done something pretty stupid not to win it.
Total waste of money but thats just my opinion.
Staff changes at MF then?
Good luck guys
5:39, Staff changes at MF then? What sort of inimical comment is that? You strike me as the type of undignified scoundrel that this industry could do without. To have posted a comment of such a nature, a person must have severe lack of morality and a conceited personality. I very much hope you don’t work at The Brand.
We are proud of the win but we are very mindful of the fact MF will most probably have to loose some very good people as a result, as we would have. 5:39, these will be very good, nobel people with families and commitments. All this at a time of uncertainty for us all. Still funny?
I enjoy the usual banter on this site when it comes to creative output as much as anyone else but when it comes to implacable comments when the livelihoods of our friends are at stake, well, that’s just cowardice.
Next time you look in the mirror 5:39, ask yourself if you’re really suited to this industry and if the answer is yes ask yourself whether you could reach deep within yourself and bring forth the slightest bit of integrity. Again, I hope you don’t work at The Brand.
Commiserations to all the people at Marketforce. I’m very certain we’ll see ‘Marketforce wins’ in the headlines again very soon. It makes me nervous just thinking about it.
Annus horribilis for MF.
good use of scoundrel – definitely an underused term.
1.36 You must have had a few too many beers after celebrating.
The comment was in no way meant to be anything other than pure observation.
I am not sure why you have taken it to a personal level.
I was just asking the question that there was likely to be some movement within the staffing ranks, and in no way was there any malicious intent.
These things happen all the time.
Lose big account staff are let go. This seems to be the nature of the business and there aren’t many companies that seem to be able to restructure themselves to combat this.
I didn’t think my initial delivery was in any way of a gloating fashion.
Of course I wish the nice people at MF all the best, and lets be honest you don’t even know yet if staff will actually go?
I think that if you actually work at Brand you are just taking that high morale ground of yes we won the business and we love all the other agencies in town and good mates routine, which is easy to do in the position you are now placed.
Does this make you feel better about things, and life in general?
Good luck with the account.
1.36.
6.04 here. I agree it is bad form to twist the knife. That’s why I just posted “Good luck guys” Although in a passive-aggressive way it could be seen as a pointed comment, it is generally in keeping with the good-natured tone of the blog of late. 5.39pm don’t be so mean…
The family line again, with the philosophical rant to follow?! Will this always come up when an account moves agency?
If the work leaves WA then yes – a sad day for the industry and the people made redundant.
The point is if these ‘very good’ account service people really are ‘very good’ – then they will find employment. The same amount of money is turning in the WA industry – so I’m sure there are a few jobs on offer at Brand.
5.39 comment comes because they probably saw it coming, given the recent history on the account. Brand won because they offered a superior product both creatively and service wise.
cb has industry been gaged again?
I would be nervous too if I put two typo’s into one paragraph. Best of luck!
MF lost the account 3 years ago when they opened the door to The Brand
Onward and upward, guys!
4:12pm Pot kettle black much?
Haven’t heard. Was there any fallout at MF?
