TMeridith.jpghe Brand Agency’s entry for Curtin University, ‘The Box’, has been awarded a rare Gold Award for Channel Strategy in the 2010 APG Creative Planning Awards in Sydney tonight.

In what is recognised as a very tough event to win, there were 160 entries and only 27 finalists. The Account Planning Group Awards, which attract entries from the most high profile campaigns across Australia, recognise the role of Planning in driving original creative solutions and campaign effectiveness. The winning entry was based on a case study written by Meredith Simpson and Brand’s Head of Strategy, Paul Yole, followed by a face-to-face presentation by Simpson to panel of eight judges in Sydney last month. (Simpson is pictured left at the awards ceremony holding the award).

“I’m especially pleased for Meredith, who has now firmly established herself as one of Australia’s rising stars in planning” said Yole. “The Box was a massive team effort by over 50 people at The Brand Agency, Curtin and Longtail, but Meredith not only played a key part in the research and campaign planning, she masterminded the entry itself and that is a huge part of this award.”

The APG win follows a strong run of success for The Box project, which has already won a Gold Effie and AMI Marketing Program of the Year. It also has two finalists in the ADMA Awards to be presented on Friday night in Melbourne.
