BOOKINGS OPEN FOR ‘GEISHA MOON’ – THE 2009 OASIS BALL & CAMPAIGN BRIEF AWARDS
The 2009 Oasis Ball is ready to ignite on Friday, March 20.
This year’s theme is Geisha Moon, a blend of traditional and contemporary Japanese culture. Striking imagery and subtle Japanese design linked with some amazing entertainment will blow you away at the Perth Exhibition & Convention Centre.
Once again, a highlight of the night will be the Campaign Brief Awards where a wide open field fight it out for 8 creative awards plus the coveted Campaign, Media Organisation, Supernova, Advertiser, Ad Person and Agency of the Year titles. Be there to see who takes out the big prizes.
Our amazing After Party will once again have everyone talking and set the standard for parties throughout 2009.
Best of all, it’s for a great cause – The Salvation Army’s Crossroads Westprogram, to which the WA Advertising and Media industry has contributed well over a million dollars.
WHEN: Friday, March 20 from 6.30pm.
WHERE: Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre Ballroom.
DRESS: Black Tie
COST: $195 (inc. GST)
Last year the event sold out and this year, numbers are strictly limited so don’t miss your chance to be at the biggest night of the year for our industry – book your tickets today.

I fully support the Oasis ball and I’m happy my entry goes towards charity – but $195!
If there’s still shitty tap beer & cheap-ass wine I’m gonna be angry – and if Gosich is MC again I’m gonna go postal.
Have they come up with an alternative to Awkward Hour this year? Maybe the media directors of the various agencies could pre-bid on all that media space and we could just hear the results? Sure it’s for a good cause, but it does drag the evening down just as it’s getting going.
I can’t wait. Last year was such a great night!
You’ll be happy to hear that the beer is Asahi this year to fit the Japanese theme.
10.14 & 10.18 – Don’t come. Maybe we will then get a table closer to the front.
You must have gone to the wrong party 10.14. There’s never been shitty tap beer. Last year it was Gage Road and Crownies – and I had about a dozen of each so I got my $195 worth.
is the woman in the poster japanese?
she looks like my mom…
“Never been shitty beer… last year we had Crownies” Ha ha ha, that’s funny.
You musy be joking! Crown Lager IS shit beer!!! ha ha ha… oh man, you need to try a real beer one day.
I am very happy indeed to know the beer is Asahi. Finally, a decent drop. Well done all.
which agency does the chick in the poster work for? She looks like she’s about to give herself the chop.
Th Brand.
pretty sure the chick works for shutterstock…
Asahi as the beer, count me in
Zachary the right choice! Asahi fo’ sho’.
“Never been shitty beer… last year we had Gage Roads”. Hilarious. Asahi’s great though, can’t wait.
Seems the advertising fraternity are far more discerning about their beer than anyone thought. Tip for future organisers – sort decent booze and they will come, drink and be merry.
Now that it’s rectified can we get back to discussing the winners?
Just because radio entries are up doesn’t mean the quality has increased dramatically. I suppose Zoo will go well – any other predictions? More Fed Govt stuff like that amazingly creative campaign that got a finalist last year?
I heard from the organisers that numbers are limited to 750 people this year. Book early as last year there were 850 people at the ball with over 20 people on the wait list.
10.23.
Congratulations on attempting to steer the topic away from one that posters were actually enjoying and contributing to, towards your favorite target – the usual poisonous anti 303 rant. Expect the tumbleweed to blow across this thread any time soon
I heard from the organisers that beer is limited to Asahi this year. Book early or you will be drinking Crownies at the local TAB. : D
CB. It doesn’t really feel in the spirit of the blog to allow a poster to slag off another agencies work (like 10.23 does) and then not post any of the replies to that poster.
woooooooooooosh. tumbleweeeeeeeds of criticism and self doubt . . .
one cold asahi please!
In the meantime, my 5 best beers:
Asahi
Grolsch
Corona
Heineken
Coopers Pale Ale
5 worst:
Tooheys Extra Dry
Emu Bitter
Carlton Cold
Carlton Crown
Carlton …
Jeee Wizzzzz $195 bucks! U2 only cost $150 so I hope its a good show!
Is U2 the entertainment on the night? Or is a tribute band? I think there’s one called U22. They used to play at the Shents years ago.
I’ll use my means tested money from the stimulus package to pay for my ticket – at least my money is staying local – hang on….the beer is imported.
Mmm, not such an impressive list, look beyond your local Liquorland. And Corona? You can’t be serious. Try these my friend;
Weinstephaner
Hoegaarden
Shofferhoffer
Chimay
Baron’s wattle seed stout
the only thing more boring than a wine snob is a beer snob. I can just hear 10.06 at a party, down the back of a room, putting everyone in stitches with his hilarious quotes from Monty Python’s Life of Brian interspersed with espousing the merits of the impossible to pronounce beer he’s drinking – the rest of the six pack he’s got under the piano stool he’s sitting on as he wouldn’t dare put it in the bath with all the other common beers like corona, et al. Do us a favour 10.06 and get yourself a few stubbies of baron’s wattle seed stout (I mean if ever there was a wankers name for wanker beer the wattle seed stout would have to be it) and stay at home on march 20.
I feel much better now.
Alright, with that in mind I’ll fix my list.
Weinstopperhaufferfuerer
Hoemygarden
Superheffer
Chimney
Baron von Shanauchenhound’s hayseed stunt.
ha ha ha, mission accomplished. Thankyou 12.57, knew I’d get a rise out of someone.
