Bankwest and Ikon move media trading to Perth
Bankwest and media agency partner Ikon Communications will relocate the Bankwest media trading function from Sydney to Perth, in a move which will benefit localoperators and the State economy. The organisations have decided that Bankwest’s annual media investment will be booked out of Ikon’s Perth office directly with WA media owners from June 1.
This means that all of Bankwest’s media trading and buying will be done in Western Australia, directly contributing to the local economy and the media services sector, further demonstrating Bankwest’s ongoing commitment to its home state.
Bankwest’s General Manager Customer Communications and Brand, Paul Vivian, said, “Bankwest was founded in 1895 and is one of WA’s most enduring brands, one which actively supports the communities in which it operates.”
“We’ve been assessing how we can make this happen while maintaining the service we get from the Ikon team for some time, and the timing was right to make the transition now. And, of course, we’re looking forward to working more closely with, and supporting more directly, WA’s local media owners.”
Ikon Sydney Managing Director, Pat Crowley, said, “Clients are at the front and centre of every decision we make, and have always been.”
This move clearly demonstrates that proof point.”
“Having a truly national network of offices allows us to facilitate and customise different ways of working for all our clients, particularly national businesses that require people on the ground in other capital cities.”

“Bankwest was founded in 1895 and is one of WA’s most enduring brands, one which actively supports the communities in which it operates.” Nice one, Bankwest. Now, if only some of our other bigger advertisers – and agencies – could follow suit
Fantastic going by Bankwest. Great for our state and great for our industry. Would be great to see others follow suit!
