There is a simple reason for this total failure. Local creatives do not spend enough time looking at what is happening internationally. They therefore produce work which, while undeniably well-executed and possibly groundbreaking at a state or national level, is old news to judges. This year’s innovative Caxtons comp winner, for example, is already over 3 years old in international terms.
