APG presents award winning secrets from acclaimed Tooheys Beer Economy campaign
The Australian Planning Group will host a case study evening for individual members of the Communications Council and friends, on Thursday 12 May in Perth. Neal Fairfield (left), Planning Director at Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney and celebrated winner of the Grand Prix award at the 2010 Creative Strategy Awards, will present the insights and ideas that led to the highly successful Tooheys NEW campaign.
Introducing Fairfield will be Jon Steel, Chairman of Judges for the 2010 APG Awards and Chief Strategy Officer at GPY&R. Steel worked with the panel of nine Stage 2 Judges, including Jeremy Nicholas, Chairman of the APG & CEO of BMF, to select the best case studies from a record field of 154 entries.
Awarded for its brand strategy and insight, the Tooheys campaign uncovered a number of very interesting insights about the relationship between target drinkers and Tooheys, connecting these to a brilliantly simple observation that Aussies have been using beer to get things done for generations. Chairman of Judges Jon Steel described it as “..a genius insight.”
“The APG Awards offer a unique insight into our industry’s brand stories and how they were devised, the thinking of which is a very important record for our industry” says Jeremy Nicholas, APG Chairman. The APG Award Book featuring all shortlisted case studies will be available to members later this month. The bi-annual APG Creative Strategy Awards aim to recognise the contribution planning makes to great creative work – the link between innovative thinking and excellent creative work.
