Angus MacGregor new sales director for The Sunday Times and PerthNow
News Limited has announced the appointment of Angus MacGregor as sales director for The Sunday Times and PerthNow, replacing Simon Ingleson who is moving to Sydney. MacGregor will be responsible for display and classified revenue across all platforms in Western Australia.
Jason Scott, the managing director of The Sunday Times saidMacGregor would bring broad media experience across numerous publishingplatforms in both Australia and the UK to his new role.
“Angus has performed with distinction across newspapers, magazines andonline properties for News Limited and a number of our competitors as aspecialist display and classified sales executive,” said Scott.
MacGregor joined The Australian Financial Review as senioraccount manager in 1995, leaving four years later to become nationaladvertising manager, business publications, at ACP where he launched Money magazine.
In 2001 he was sales director for Yahoo in Australia and New Zealandbefore rejoining ACP where he had responsibility across a range oftheir magazines, including The Bulletin.
In 2004 he joined News Limited as advertising director for The Weekend Australian Magazine,leading the advertising launch of Wish in 2005, before moving to NewsMagazines as advertising director of the men’s division withresponsibility for 13 titles including GQ and Alpha.
MacGregor moved to Dennis Publishing as commercial director on the launch of The Week into the Australian market in 2008.
“I am delighted to be rejoining News Limited as sales director for TheSunday Times and PerthNow. It’s a fantastic suite of products in anincredibly vibrant and entrepreneurial state,” he said.
He takes up his new role from Monday August 23.
