AGDA WA presents Art & About with local artists Anya Brock, Amok Island and Chris Nixon
AGDA WA are pleased to present the exciting opportunity to hear from renowned local artists Anya Brock, Amok Island and Chris Nixon talk about their careers as artists and involvement in the local art scene.

Amok Island, a dutch artist based in Fremantle, is widely known for his murals, canvases and hand-made screen-prints that depict nature and marine life. His large scale public murals can be found in The Netherlands, Japan, Germany, Portugal, Indonesia, Thailand, Greece, Egypt, Papua, Cambodia and across Australia.
Amok Island has exhibited his work in over 25 group exhibitions and solo exhibitions in Australia, The Netherlands and Tokyo.

Perth born artist, Anya Brock, began her career in the fashion industry running her high-end label, Anan, for eight years. It was only after working for Christopher Kane and Richard Nicoll in London that she discovered her love of painting.
Anya’s unmistakable and striking aesthetic can be seen decorating the walls of local shops, cafes, galleries and alleyways in Perth. Her style of bold, expressive lines and bright colour palettes isrecognised as iconic, drawing attention in the international market.

Chris Nixon is an illustrator, designer and creative director based in Perth. His distinct style has allowed him to work on projects that are very diverse in nature, including children’s books, animations, commercial illustration and large scale public art.
Chris’ large scale artworks have been installed in various locations around Australia, and he has exhibited work in Tokyo, Berlin, Bali, Sydney and Melbourne. Chris was a feature presenter at the Adobe Create Now Roadshow in Brisbane in 2014.
