Adzoo gives two for Homeless Connect
The team at adzoo downed tools last week for the opportunity to volunteer at Homeless Connect.
Supported by the City of Perth and Volunteering WA, Homeless Connect brings together business and community groups to provide free services to homeless people for a day. These services range from government providers such as Medicare and Centrelink to corporate partners providing free haircuts, showers, clothing and food.
Staged in Russell Square Northbridge, over 1000 people benefited from the services provided on the day, and adzoo staff were thrilled to be a part of giving back to the WA community. Jarrod Greenwood, adzoo Director of Accounts (pictured far right) said the response from their team had been amazing.
“As part of our corporate volunteering program our staff are given the opportunity to spend one day a year volunteering for a cause they are passionate about, as well as one day where as a team we volunteer together. Aside from participating on the day, we also provided in-kind support through brand development, a website, a range of collateral for the day, as well as filming the event for a DVD to help garner additional sponsors and support.
“Overall, our volunteer contribution has exceeded well over 300 hours for this cause, and for a small business, this is something we are extremely proud of,” he said.
“It provided our team the opportunity to see first-hand the struggle many in our community go through on a daily basis. We are privileged to work in an amazing industry, and sometimes we forget how lucky we really are.”
Greenwood said adzoo had already committed to being back on-board for Homeless Connect 2016 and extends the invitation to other agencies to join themin supporting this worthy cause.
