ADMA WA conference to offer food for thought about mass customisation in the digital era
An intriguing report into creativity and biz success…a wildly successful creative campaign for IKEA…using apps for customised experiences…the importance of giving customers what they want. These are some of the topics on tap at the ADMA WA branch’s annual marketing and advertising conference.
The conference takes place Friday, 25 October from 8.30am to 3.00pm at the Perth Conference and Exhibition Centre.
“This event is about creating a venue for WA marketers and advertisers to exchange ideas, challenge conventional approaches and network with peers. It is one of the biggest marketing events on the WA calendar,” said Jodie Sangster, ADMA CEO, who will present at this year’s event.
The theme is mass customisation in the digital age and the day features a diverse line-up of local and national speakers. There are four morning workshops with the following:
Jodie Sangster, CEO, ADMA
Jodie, who brings extensive global experience in the fields of data-driven marketing and advertising to her role as ADMA CEO, will talk about the link between creativity and effective marketing, citing a recent study that suggests creative campaigns have broader business success than non-creative campaigns. Conducted by ADMA and Peter Field, a respected UK marketing consultant, this inaugural report challenges the marketing and advertising industry’s current focus on big data and tight targeting.
Marc Loveridge, founder and managing director, Adapptor
Customised consumer experiences? There’s an app for that – is the theme of Marc’s talk at the conference. Marc, whose company has created many useful and playful branded apps for a diverse client list including Tourism WA, The West Australian and Department of Fisheries, will discuss how branded applications can deliver customised consumer experiences and build brand loyalty.
Vera Skocic, head of marketing, Communications Management Services, Australia Post
Give the people what they want is the theme of Vera’s presentation. Vera will discuss the challenges around the plethora of media channels now available and how customers want you to communicate with them. She’ll also give tips on how best to reach customers and the impact the changing media landscape has on consumer channel preference at various stages of the purchase life cycle. Vera has nearly 20 years of experience in retail, franchising, financial and professional services and is applying her knowledge to shape the evolving Australia Post business and customer strategy.
Alan Taylor, managing director, 303Lowe, Ikea ‘rent’ creative case study
Recognised nationally as a leading strategic planner, Alan has driven some of Australia’s best-known social marketing campaigns including Go for 2&5 and the Measure up healthy weight campaign. He will talk about his team’s 2012 IKEA catalogue rent campaign, arguably WA’s most awarded campaign ever.
LinkedIn at lunch
Kae Hum, account director, LinkedIn.com Marketing Solutions, is the lunchtime keynote at the conference. Kae has over seven years of experience in the digital marketing industry and has helped build brands in the finance, automotive, entertainment and FMCG industries. He will talk about building better relationships on LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional network, with over 235 million members.
