Ric Cairns departs Marketforce
After almost ten years at Marketforce, former Shorter Group Creative Director Ric Cairns is departing the agency.
Cairns, who shared last year’s Art Director of the Year gong at the PADC Awards, has said he intends to establish his own consultancy.
“I’ve developed an unusual combination of skills over the years. I want to find a new way to apply them. I expect to still be involved with design and advertising and strategy, but I’m also looking to add some other strings to the bow. More news on that as it happens.”
Cairns said the creative ‘changing of the guard’ at Marketforce (where Andrew Tinning was replaced by Ben Green and Patrick Lennox this year) provided an obvious point to make the break.
“The agency’s going through a reinvention at the moment, which is great. But I think it’s a good moment for me to step out and allow us both a fresh start.”
Cairns finishes at Marketforce May 20.

Can’t wait to see what Cairns does next!
Onwards and upwards Rick.
Good move Ric. Who wants to be the last man standing on the deck of the Titanic?
‘REINVENTION”???? You have always been so polite Ric.
Very generous comments from Ric
Why? Why? Why? This is so wrong. Stop the madness MF.
Congratulations on starting the next chapter, Ric.
Wow!
Big news, congratulations Ric.
I’ve enjoyed working with you in the past and hopefully in the future.
All the best
Abi
I just got a “suspected Phishing site” warning when I came on here. What’s happening CB? Oh and good luck Ric
Great to see. All the best Ric.
The BIG rumour is a shift to another big agency on big dollars? Come on Ric, spill the beans. Congratulations in advance. Well done.
Well done and congratulations!!! But now I couldn’t help but wonder what will happen next at MF?
Yes…but did he jump or was he pushed.
Well worded and politically correct. As expected.
A gentleman ’til the end. Ric’s a class act that will be hard to follow. Congratulations and I can’t wait to see what you do next. ST
He’s either been let go or doesn’t like the new joint CD team? Anyway time for a change, looks like the standard of work at MF seems to have taken a dive. West Australian Ballet Branding case in point, stick to advertising guys. Good luck Rick.
