96FM Kick Starts Summer of Music with big concert at Houghton Winery in November featuring Thirsty Merc and re-formed Killing Heidi

96FM will Kick Start itsSummer of Music  from the 80s to now with a special concert at Houghton Winery in Middle Swan this November.

The one-day only event will see some of Australia’s hottest acts together for the first time, including James Reyne, Kingswood and Daryl Braithwaite. Thirsty Merc will fly direct from Los Angeles just to perform, and Killing Heidi will reform after a ten year hiatus – taking to the stage to perform their classic hits.

Hosted by 96FMs Carmen & Fitzi and presented in association with Starr Special Events, the concert will bring music back to the vineyards, with a long awaited return to great Aussie music by some of the most iconic names in the industry.

Killing Heidi’s Ella and Jesse Hooper said they were thrilled to be back on stage.

“We’ve been asked to perform live many times over the years and have always declined, but it just goes to show – never say never,” Ella Hooper said. “I’m ready to celebrate that amazing time and also to claim that part of my journey as a songwriter. What Killing Heidi’s music meant and still means to the people that shared that amazing time with us really blows me away,”

“It’s a celebration not a reformation. We thought this was a really special opportunity to reflect on that era,” Jesse Hooper added.

“At 96FM we’re all about playing Perth’s favourites from the 80s to now. We love great music, it’s what gets us up in the morning and is the very core of what we do. We’re so excited to see these iconic acts on stage together, this really is a once in a lifetime experience,” Fitzi said. “We’re both constantly singing behind the scenes in studio, so to be sharing the stage with guys like Thirsty Merc and James Reyne, is very special,” Carmen added.
