303 Lowe Perth’s Rene Migliore (pictured) has resigned from the agency to join SHEDcsc as managing partner and a director in the business.

Migliore has had an extensive career in the industry, which has included stints at The Shorter Group, The Brand Agency and three-and-a-half years in Melbourne. He has been with 303Lowe for the past 7 years.

He said running an agency had been a long term ambition and the opportunity offered with SHED had come at the right time.

“I couldn’t be more amped about joining the SHED team” said Migliore. “It’s a brilliant opportunity be part of a emerging agency who are producing consistently great work based on a smart, nimble and layer free model that’s relevant to the needs of today’s market. Andrew and Drew have done an amazing job to build SHED from scratch into the successful operation that it is today. They’ve produced some of the best work from any local agency in recent times and for a couple of creatives, they’ve put in place some impressive business systems and disciplines. We share the same desire and passion to do great work for our clients and continue to build SHED into a successful, creative, independent agency. This also marks the end of an amazing seven years with 303. It feels like I’m leaving home. I’ll always be proud of my history and achievements at 303 and will miss everyone there.”

He will commence with the agency in August.

303Lowe Perth MD, Alan Taylor, said he understood Migliore’s motivation and supported his decision.

“Rene and I have known each other, and worked together, for a long time – right back to the Shorter days!  In the last 7 years at 303LOWE, he has been a great contributor to the culture, the growth and development of the business. But, these opportunities don’t come along often. So, as a friend and colleague I can only support him in the move. It is exciting for him to do his own thing in his own place where he’s got some ‘skin in the game’.”

They are in the process of moving into new premises in Bishop Street Jolimont.

SHED co-founder, Drew Ridley – with whom Migliore has been close friends since they worked together at The Shorter Group in the mid-90s – said it had always been part of their plan to bring a third partner. After two years building the business they felt the time was right.

“Taking on that key third partner has been a fundamental part of our business plan since day one. Over the past two years we’ve discussed several potential candidates, but at the end of the day Rene’ ticks all of the boxes and more. Not only is he super smart and highly ambitious, his grounded nature and down to earth approach fits perfectly with SHED’s no BS policy.”

SHED’s Andrew Tinning added: “There’s no doubt that we can foot it creatively with the best of them, you just have to look at our work and our growing list of great clients for evidence of that. We’ve worked bloody hard to get SHED to the point where we’re ready to take this next big step. Having someone of René’s calibre onboard will greatly enhance our offering and his business and strategic acumen will help catapult us into this exciting new phase of our growth.”
