IKEAGuerilla_3.jpg303 Perth has won a Media Bronze Lion at Cannes with its IKEA ‘Guerilla Garbage’ execution. The media strategy used rubbish collections by local councils to promote IKEA’s ‘Change is good’ campaign.

It’s a sensational result for 303 who, along with Meerkats, had Perth’s first finalists in the Media competition. The Media Jury shortlisted 211 entries out of the 1840 competing and awarded 122 winners.

‘Guerilla Garbage’ was also a finalist in the Outdoor category but didn’t progress beyond that stage.

Of the 4498 entries in the Outdoor category, 512 made it to the shortlist with 69 selected as winners.

Meerkatsalso had a finalist in Media with its iiNet ‘The Naked Truth’ campaignbut that’s as far as it went. Likewise, its finalist in the Radiocompetition – Murdoch University ‘Open Day’ – failed to make it to themetal round, with judging in Radio being much tougher this year. NewZealand Radio juror James Mok, ECD of DraftFCB New Zealand, said evenmaking it to the shortlist was a great achievement (see story on the CB Australia Blog).

From a total of 1153 entries in the Radio category, 33 winners were honoured from a shortlist of 167.
