Well done to all – especially Cooch
Interesting that none of the more adventurous creative from the city got up. Where’s the talking adshel, that caxtons parallel lines crime thing or the ikea wardrobe ad. Don’t get me wrong, I like the ads that got up. But they just seem to be more of the same luerzers archive-style ads that push boundaries, without breaking them
6.28. The talking adshel, parallel lines ad and ikea wardrobe ad were creative for their novelty but often this is superficial whereas the ads that were shortlisted all had a litle more depth and power to them. That’s what i think anyway.
Pfft! Why hasn’t anyone had the balls to point out that that X-Ray ad isn’t original. It’s been done a million times before. It’s an obvious scam. Hey, an X-ray shot won’t cost us anything and we’ll talk the client around to running it in a country paper.
This industry stinks if this picks up an award!!!!
6.46. You’ve obviously never had to get an ad approved to run by theGMO (Government media Office) . If you had you’d know it’s very hard to get them to pay for a one off scam ad.
Geez 6.46. Bad easter break? Eat more chocolate and relax a bit as everyone knows this was legit.
Well done to all shops involved. These are all world class pieces of work and deserve to be recognised.
6.46. You are wrong in saying the Marketforce ad is unoriginal. True, x-ray imagery is well trodden territory but I don’t recall seeing this idea before. If you have, prove me wrong by putting up a link. In the mean time, be proud that local creatives are doing so well at an international level.
303. A simple truth, distilled (no pun intended) down to it’s essence, love it.
Cooch. This is my personal favourite. Getting unsuspecting passengers to participate in your campaign. I always thought it would be great if a couple of Nuns sat on those front seats.
6.46
Please dig out reference to this alleged lack of originality. A web reference or book page number will do. I think it is clear why last year’s Caxton comp winner has not fared well in awards, but I have always found the x-ray stuff to be original.
I find it truely disgusting that the Enjo book never made it!!
God if only the art director had cropped right in on the glass and the body it could’ve been really subtle and lovely and really good. Do one like that for your book boys.
Cooch Creative…Perth’s invisible agency!
Awesome results for all involved! And good luck …
X ray ads. jeeze, you guys are Sooooooooo un-original.
here’s the best one, voted on Best Ads January 2007:

oh, yeah.
Well I reckon best of luck to everybody!
We should stop bitching and realise any win for a WA agency is a win for the WA industry. Sure it’s good to be competitive with each other. But success at an International awards show makes us all look good.
I think only 6.46 was negative. Everyone else seemed remarkably civilised, even JunkWaffle
HELL YEAH! GO PERTH! Stop bitchin’ you pansies.
