Sam Price joins Sandbox ranks

Sandbox has welcomed Motion Graphics Designer and Director Sam Price to its team. As a motion graphics artist, Price has produced cutting edge-work for some of the world’s best brands and as a Director he is carving a niche in combining live action and animation.
“Animation and motion graphics are a cornerstone of our business and we look forward to Sam helping us push our artistic boundaries and applications of the work we can do,” said Sandbox Managing Director Grady Habib. “Sam is not your traditional motion graphics designer, he has done everything from projections and interactive exhibitions as well as performed as a visual artist and musician.”
Price’s work has been shown at the Museum of Modern Art PS1 space in New York and The Sydney Opera House. He has collaborated with a number of musical artists such as Empire of the Sun, Gang of Youths and TA-KU producing visual content and direction for their live shows. This has led to working with international clients Nike, Puma, Intel, Bombay Sapphire and Red Bull.
Locally, Price picked up a PADC Award for his Animation and VFX work on the ‘Let’s Go’ TVC for Perth’s Smart Transport Network, which he also co-directed.
“It’s an exciting opportunity to collaborate with a talented group of animators and artists, in particular Matthew Kerley who has a great depth of experience with motion graphics,” said Price. “I’m excited to tackle more ambitious projects as a director, knowing that we have an amazing team here that can deliver complex productions at a high quality in house. It feels like a whole new world of possibilities has just opened up.”
