Vale Carl Bateman 1971-2017
303 MullenLowe production manager Carl Bateman lost a battle with cancer recently. Good friend and colleague Dave Wilson paid this tribute.
Early last week, Carl Bateman lost his brave two-year battle with cancer – and the extended 303 family lost one of its favourite-ever sons.
Carl (aka Carlos) joined 303 in 2003 and was the agency’s can-do print/production manager. He was also the agency’s best tennis player (by far), most vertically challenged employee (equally by far), worst-ever teller of Dad jokes and a Battle of the Bands stalwart.
On the day he left us, Carlos nearly did #breaktheinternet. Here’s just a snippet of Facebook postings from his colleagues, past and present:

Such a legend and all round nice guy. I’ll never forget the time you burnt the toast and made the firemen come round to the office in Roberts Road….twice. RIP Carl.

Met Carlos all those years ago at Multicolour. He was Kev’s golden child… he was everyones golden child. Naturally gifted humour, positive outlook, smart and hard working… Carl never seemed to stress… he took life in moments… one at a time and always with the best intentions. So sorry you are gone mate… too soon but somewhere somehow you are making someones moment better being the guy you always are.
Such a great person to have around. Good humoured, kind and funny. Wit for days.
