WA ad industry leads the way in graduate engagement with TCC Jump Start program
In its fourth year, The Communications Council’s WA Jump Start program has once again delivered incredible talent to the Perth advertising industry.
The ten week program delivers a platform for industry engagement, learning and experience, with the aim of connecting industry and graduates to full time employment.
This year’s successful Jump Start Graduates are:

The program also celebrated individual achievements announcing, Simon Thuijs from the University of Western Australia as the Program’s Top Graduate for 2016. Simon receives the Ken Painter AdSchool Scholarship valued at $3,000, a conference pass to Emergence Creative Festival in Margaret River, March 29 to April 1 2017 and has this month kicked off his career at Meerkats as a Junior Planner.
The program’s success is not just about delivering graduates to industry; the aim is to assist both graduates and agencies in developing strong retention strategies.
“This year Meerkats has employed two graduates from the program as part of our ongoing commitment to support fresh talent,” said Gavin Bain, CEO Meerkats and Chair of the WA Council. “The Jump Start programme continues to provide a fantastic pool of top talent for the commercial creative industry to draw from.”
This year’s program was strongly supported by The Communications Council and Media Federation of Australia members Carat, Gatecrasher, Marketforce, Meerkats, The Brand Agency and Trilogy, as well as this year’s pitch client Gino Premici, General Manager of Home Base.
The program now boasts strong alumni who continue to achieve personal success in their careers working across creative, account management, media, production and marketing.
