Radman joins Meerkats as new Design Director

Meerkats has announced another hire for the agency with Melissa Radman (pictured) being appointed as their new Design Director. Adding to the recent recruitment of Josh Edge and Rikki Burns, Radman – formerly with 303 MullenLowe – brings considerable design experience to the Kats.

“The time was right for me to explore something new and the combination of Meerkats philosophy, the new leadership team and plans they are putting in place, made this an opportunity I couldn’t refuse,” said Radman. “The type of work they are doing, their commitment to strategic design and how they see the future of creative, design and technology intersecting is inspiring. Even Josh’s enthusiasm couldn’t put me off the place.”

“I’m truly grateful for the opportunity I’ve had at 303 to work on some great brands with a wonderful bunch of people. Collectively we’ve created some amazing work and I know they will continue to do so,” she added.

Chief Creative Officer Martin Beecroft said Radman will add further depth to the Kats’ new team that he has been shaping. This third recent hire is being boosted with additional talent in their business partnerships team, effectiveness team and a significant hire for their strategy team to be announced shortly.

“Bringing in Melissa has been in the pipeline for a while now and we’re very excited to have someone of her caliber leading our design thinking offer. The plan to implement a different creative approach connected to smart design thinking is well under way. When you look at the diversity of our work and you consider the approach we’re taking, I know we’re building something very unique in Meerkats. Mel’s design ability is well regarded and everyone is damn excited about our future,” Beecroft said.

As Head of Design at 303MullenLowe, Radman has been responsible for developing design platforms for Water Corporation (Fresh Water Thinking), ECU, P&N Bank (Power of &), Transperth, Road Safety Commission, Art Gallery of WA and Perth Racing (AshBecLee). Under Radman’s creative lead, the design department has been awarded AGDA’s Design Effectiveness two years running. Her own work has been recognised locally and internationally and in 2015 she was awarded PADC’s Designer of the Year.
