Perth’s creative industry enjoys a great day at the Campaign Brief WA Legendary Lunch

The Garden in Leederville was the venue for the Campaign Brief Legendary Lunch yesterday. It was a perfect day enjoyed by 90 of Perth’s top creatives and production people, including some bona fide legends of the industry.
Prize packs of Larry Cherubino wines along with ‘Legendary’ t-shirts were given away throughout the afternoon.
Special thanks to Campaign Brief’s fantastic sponsors this year – Beautiful Pictures, Brainestorm, Boogie Monster, First Light, Open Spaces, Sandbox, Split Screen, The Office of John Cheese and The Penguin Empire – who made this event happen.
This was the 8th time CB has held the Legendary Lunch, which continues to be one of the most popular events on Perth’s creative calendar.

Thanks to CB for hosting another great Legendary Lunch. Good to see the legends of the local industry Gordon, Vaughan and John Ilian there.
Thanks for a wonderful lunch guys. Was a great day!
Great day. Big thanks to CB and the very generous sponsors.
Where’s Steve Brown?
Nice work Marty….good to have Kim in the country!
Thanks to Martin, Kim and all at CB for another Legendary Lunch. Also James from TOOJC for getting together the fantastic group of sponsors to make it all happen. Thank you all. It’s not often these days you get free lunch and drinks and these wonderful compadres kicked in for over a 100 veterans and current ad industry hot-shots. Jeez, it was like the long-lunching heydays of the 80’s kicking back in again. Well done, much appreciated.
Great lunch, as ever. Thanks to Martin, Kim and all the very generous sponsors.
Thanks guys, great catching up, cheers bas
Good on you Cheese for instigating and all the generous sponsors, post production and TVC production houses, you rock!
Very sad to see no support for this event from the West Australian, looks like 20 years of sponsorship and involvement with the PADC and the Creative community has gone down the drain. Hope print advertising doesn’t go the same way but I’m not holding my breath. Great to see Gordy, John Ilian, Vaughan and Kim looking in such fine fettle.
Thanks for your comment Peter, always good to hear from a PADC Life Member and champion of creativity, although I think you’re being a bit harsh on this occasion given we didn’t ask The West to be a sponsor of this event.
The background is the Legendary Lunch was previously sponsored principally by Adstream, along with Brainestrom and Split Screen as supporting sponsors. However when Gab Wallington left as Adstream’s WA state manager, the new state management team didn’t want to continue their participation.
I was a bit pre-occupied taking over Campaign Brief WA from Kim and Michael (must do a press release about that), so James Hawkes from The Office of John Cheese did a ring around and rallied Perth’s magnificent production industry to the cause, hence this year we had nine great local sponsors, including Brainestorm and Split Screen who unhesitatingly continued their involvement. It was a great effort and a great result.
We’ll send you an invitation to the next one. Seeing the legends of the industry mixing with the next generation of creative leaders is one of the real joys of the Legendary Lunch in WA.
In terms of press advertising, The West Australian is continuing as a sponsor of the Press Campaign category at the Campaign Brief Awards, to be announced on April 29. And the good news is the category this year is as strong as it has been for some time, which was good to see.
All the best,

Campaign Brief WA
why wasn’t I told?
7West Media is also still a major supporter of the PADC.
Thanks Martin, diplomatic, as ever. Congratulations on taking over Campaign Brief, nice to know that our industry’s organ is in such capable hands.
Best Rgds
