Marketforce writer Guy Howlett named PADC 2016 Ultimate Diamond Skull winner at Emergence
The PADC Diamond Skulls winners have been announced at the Emergence Creative Festival in Margaret River, with Marketforce writer Guy Howlett being named the Ultimate Diamond Skull winner.
The Diamond Skulls were judged by LA-based ex-pats Linda and Ned McNeilage, who said Howlett’s work was “…irreverent, non-traditional and fun. His thinking is very in-line with the direction the industry as headed, and he turned projects that could have been mundane into highly sharable content. In a very tight race, his work cut through.”
Howlett was also named Copywriter of the Year, with an entry portfolio that included the international social media hit ‘Chicken Tweet‘ and last year’s PADC Best of Show winning ‘Tasty Tunes‘ for City of Perth.
Other Diamond Skulls winners were:
Art Director of the Year : Craig Buchanan (The Brand Agency)
Designer of the Year : Melissa Radman (303 MullenLowe)
Director of the Year : Grant Sputore (The Penguin Empire)
Editor of the Year : Merlin Cornish (Siamese)
Photographer of the Year : Chantel Concei (Chantel Concei Photography)
Sound Designer of the Year : Nick Gallagher (Brainestorm)
While the finalist selection process has been the subject of much discussion amongst PADC members, the list of winners is hard to argue with.

Well done guys, I was very jealous and in awe of some great work on the big screen. Guy, your folio this year was bloody outstanding.
All the winners work can be seen here http://perthad.club/winners-2015/
Thanks to everyone for their support of The Diamond Skulls this year and huge congrats to the winners. A lot of massively positive feedback on the state of WA commercial creativity by many visitors at Emergence and these folios represent it beautifully.
Here’s to taking it even further in 2016.
