Strong turnout for News Corp’s Cannes Young Lions competition WA launch at Stellar Lounge
News Corp Australia celebrated the launch of the 2016 Cannes Young Lion Competition with a breakfast hosted at The Subiaco Hotel’s Stellar Lounge.
The introductory breakfast saw a big turnout of over 50 attendees from a number of Perth’s leading advertising and digital agencies including 303 MullenLowe, Ad Impact, Adcorp, Adzoo, Bird Brain, Dentsu Mitchell, Gatecrasher, Initiative, Meerkats, OMD, Trilogy, Longtail, The Brand Agency and Pilerats.
News Corp WA Sales Director Jay Morris and Perth Agency Sales Manager Bec Oliver introduced this year’s competition, detailed the exciting changes that have been made from last year’s competition, outlined the three categories and their respective briefs, and most importantly, highlighted the amazing prizes on offer for the deserving national winners.
This year’s competition categories are Print, Media and Cyber. The competition, which closes on 7 April, is open to anyone under the age of 30*. Registration costs $150 +GST for a team of two.
Now in its eight year, the Cannes Young Lion competition searches for the best young talent in media and creative industries to represent Australia at the 2016 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
Entries will be judged by a panel of industry specialists and finalists will compete in Sydney in a second-round 24 hour brief provided by each of the category sponsors.
The 63rd Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity is being held from 18-25 June, 2016.
