More international success for Split Screen with video project for Changi Airport development

Another recent international success in production has been achieved by the team at Split Screen. Moviola Singapore teamed up with Split Screen to create a unique idea in a video presentation for the new development surrounding Changi Airport.

The video will be shown over the next few years in designated areas at Changi to promote the massive development happening at the airport. 

Everything was shot vertically cropped, so the elements filmed in Singapore and the elements filmed in Perth are shown simultaneously moving towards each other. When the two elements meet, they join together to create one massive presentation.

Producer Lee Guy-Wallis said the production was not only technically demanding, it presented some logistical challenges as well.

“I have worked with the team at Moviola Singapore on three other big shoots in Perth previously and although the concept required ‘European’ locations they entrusted us to find them in Perth. They knew the capabilities of our crew and wanted to stick with who they new could pull this job off. We managed to find the only existing glass house in Perth, plus a few other gems I am keeping up my sleeve!”

Principal filming was done over one day in Perth and two days in Singapore, but also involved three days of background plate filming around the Perth suburbs.

In two months Split Screen has provided internationally accredited work for China and Singapore and are now looking at a third project, with Scott Wright as Director, for another big TV network out of  Hong Kong.

“It has been a while since we have had so much international interest for filming in WA, and it’s great to see the awareness of what can be achieved here coming back” said Guy-Wallis. “It’s rewarding to have our abilities being recognized on a global scale.”
