Ex world champ Danny Green once again delivers ‘one punch’ message via Shed + Soul Films
In a follow-up to the powerful spot two years ago, former four-time world champion boxer Danny Green once again delivers a powerful message, via agency Shed, about how a single ‘coward’s punch’ can ruin so many lives. The spot was directed by Martin Wilson from Soul Films.
After the overwhelming success of the first stage of the campaign last year, the federal govt has helped fund these two new spots that will be screening nationally on free to air and Pay TV.
The first ad addresses how a Coward’s Punch can effect the friends and families of the victim and the other how tells how it has the same devastating effect on the friends and family of the perpetrator.
On the back of the last year’s campaign, Coward’s Punch was a finalist in the Australian national dictionaries word of the year (losing out to Tony Abbot’s ‘shirt front! ) and is now featured in the urban dictionary.
In the wake of the enormous awareness and PR that stage one the campaign generated, the laws and penalties relating to ‘Coward Punch attacks have changed in several states.

Brilliant to see this campaign growing. Such a good initiative and well done Danny Green for being so active and driving this cause..
A great TVC, well done all.
Is it good because we believe in the message or is it good because we like the ad? Take away the sentiment, I still like the ad. Well done Green Machine.
MONDAY 2/3/2015….family outing turned into a violent attack upon my 31 year old daughter and myself ( 60 year old grandmother ). A large strong male punched my daughter in the head ,all because we and others saw this man give an almighty kick to a small dog , sending the puppy like a soccer ball into the air. The dog was playfully chasing his daughter. In her defensel, I began to abuse him to bet met by my knees being kicked, so my legs gave way , causing me to tumble in the air backwards , hitting my head and back. All this in front of my 3 year old granddaughter . The man continued his violence by picking up a large branch to hit my daughter but was stopped by witnesses. Police called, my daughter and I taken to hospital .
Told by police to take statements to police yesterday and were met by police response of … More or less didn’t believe us, waste of time … Blokes who hit us have witnesses … Dog at fault . One police officer kept saying’ If I saw my daughter being chased by a dog……’ He wasn’t there and was very adamant in his line to his way of thinking… Ignoring the violence commited towards my daughter and I IN FRONT OF MY 3 year old granddaughter and other families..
I’m glad Danny Green has done this however I do not want to see the advert as my twin brother was killed In a one punch assault in 2000 and it is still raw. I’ll just have to turn and walk away if I see it…It has hugely impacted my life to the extent that when my last family member dies, I don’t want to live in Perth or Australia anymore. If I could have my wish that is what I would do.
